Sevilla took a two-goal lead into the second leg of their tie, then beat Real Betis 4-0 to cruise into the quarterfinals.
Sevilla are into the Copa del Rey quarterfinals after a 4-0
demolition of Real Betis to give them a 6-0 victory on aggregate.
Sevilla scored four minutes into the second leg to all but decide the
tie with more than 85 minutes to play.
Jose Antonio Reyes struck before the five-minute mark to start the second leg off right where the first leg left off. Adil Rami then added a second goal before halftime to give Sevilla a comfortably 2-0 lead at halftime, and a 4-0 advantage on aggregate.
Goals by Kevin Gameiro and Gael Kakuta in the second half sealed the tie, which Real Betis were always on the back foot in.
With the win, Sevilla join Mirandes in the quarterfinals of the
Copa del Rey. The remaining six teams in the round will be determined on
Wednesday and Thursday.
