Roberto Martinez, social media rage at John Terry’s equaliser for Chelsea

Roberto Martinez led a raging mob after John Terry’s equaliser for Chelsea against Everton was controversially allowed to stand.

Terry popped up in the 98th minute to grab a 3-3 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, making amends for his own goal earlier in the second half.

However, the Everton boss was furious the goal was allowed, citing: a) Terry’s apparent offside position, and b) the elapsed seven minutes of injury time

"Anger, pure anger," Martinez said, when asked about his feelings towards the leveller.

"It's a clear-cut offside that should have been spotted. To make it worse it's 50 seconds over time."

While it's no excuse for the referee. it's worth remembering Everton were fortunate not to concede a last-gasp penalty at Manchester City in midweek when John Stones sent Raheem Sterling tumbling in the box.
