Britain will have at least one finalist at the Australian Open as Scotland's Jamie Murray and Brazilian partner Bruno Soares made it into the men's doubles final.
Murray and Soares, who only teamed up at the beginning of the
year, are through to their third final in three tournaments, while
Murray is through to his third consecutive Grand Slam final.
The duo will face two of the oldest players in Melbourne in the
final: Canada's 43-year-old Daniel Nestor and 37-year-old Czech Radek
Stepanek, an unseeded duo made up of the two ageing greats who have cut a
swathe through the other side of the draw.
"I'm starting to get the hang of this game, I think," chuckled
Murray, who has defied critics who questioned his decision to split up
with former doubles partner John Peers of Australia, with whom he had
great success.
"It took me a long time to understand what it took to win, and
to perform at optimum level every time you step on the court.
"I've been lucky, I had a great partner for the last few years
in John Peers and now starting a new journey with Bruno here.
"It's been a great two weeks for us and hopefully with one more match we can get over the final hurdle."
