Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has expressed his disappointment with his side's 3-3 draw with Newcastle, and has said that the result "feels like a defeat".

United put in one of their more entertaining displays at St James Park on Tuesday night, shedding the tag of a boring team to score three goals courtesy of a Wayne Rooney brace and a first-half effort from Jesse Lingard.
However, Paul Dummett's last-minute equaliser ensured that back-to-back victories in the league and FA Cup were not followed by a third consecutive win.
Speaking after the match, Van Gaal made no attempt to hide his frustration with the result, particularly considering his side were 2-0 up late in the first half.
"Of course it feels like a defeat. We have given it away," Van Gaal told the BBC.
"We could have scored six but you have to score one more than the opponent."
He added: "We threw it away, I have told that to my players.
"I do not agree with the analysis of many, many people - we are always attacking and also attacking away."
Van Gaal's sentiments were shared by Rooney, with the United captain seeing his side drop to sixth in the Premier League standings.
"It does feel like a defeat," Rooney said.
"After scoring three good goals, it was maybe a lack of concentration – not staying with runners for the third – and that is disappointing.
"If you take a two-goal lead, we should be taking all three points and killing the game off. We didn't take all our chances and we have been punished for it.
"We always want to try and play entertaining attacking football that is what we work on and try and do, and hopefully we can come up with more solutions."
